The Ohio State House was the second largest building in the United States at the time it was finished (behind only the U.S. Capital. In this 2015 Ohio History trip, the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination, it was decorated the way it was in 1865. The Ohio Capital building was one of many stops during his funeral trip back to Springfield.

View from the top of the cupola
The cupola used to be open to everyone all of the time and was a much loved spot for honeymooners, tourists, and many others. Today, it is still open but written permission from a state representative or senator is the only way to see it. Moreover, a waiver must be signed due to steep steps and general lack of accessibility.
This graffiti is the outer wall of the cupola. I signed it somewhere. It is encouraged

Hopefully, they got out of the vent somehow.
