St. Augustine is the site of the oldest European settlement in what is now the United States. The old lighthouse is spectacular.
The Castillo de San Marcos was built as the guardian of the Spanish Empire. It figured prominently in the British Empire after the British won control of Florida from Spain, and also served as a prison where the United States incarcerated natives such as Osceola and Geronimo.
Ponce De Leon Park. Though this site is contested by some historians, it is the possible landing site of Ponce De Leon.
